HMB stands for a compound called Beta-Hydroxy Beta- Methylbutyrate. It is a metabolite of one of the branched chain amino acids (BCAA’s) called Leucine. HMB increases the ability of your body to build muscle and burn fat in response to exercise. According to the “Journal of Applied Physiology” athletes who were supplemented with 3 grams of HMB daily for 3 weeks gained 3 times as much lean body mass and increased their strength two and half times greater than those who followed the same training program but did not use HMB.
Directions: As a dietary supplement take 4-6 capsules (2-3 grams of HMB) daily with meals: under 80 kg take 4 (2x2) caps. over 80 kg take 6 (3x2) caps.
